WHAT DRIVES US
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to develop better players, teammates, leaders, and people through basketball and faith.
As a Christian-based organization, we strive to serve others, give back to the game we love, and use basketball to make a positive impact on the lives of the players and families we work with.
We're here to help players grow on the court, build character off the court, and prepare for whatever comes next.

LEGACY SINCE 2012
OUR
STORY
The North Texas Jayhawks Basketball Club was founded on a legacy that began in 2012, originally established as the Fort Worth Jayhawks Basketball Club by Rod Johnson. A longtime and respected girls' head basketball coach at Birdville High School in North Richland Hills, Coach Johnson built more than a basketball program — he built a culture rooted in discipline, development and opportunity.
Under Coach Johnson's leadership, the Jayhawks grew into one of the most recognizable grassroots programs in the DFW area, at one point fielding nearly 15 teams across the region. His commitment to youth development, mentorship and competitive excellence laid the foundation for countless athletes and families, and his impact continues to shape the program today.
In 2023, the next chapter began when Jackson Rennie and Chase Antosca launched the Texoma Jayhawks in the Sherman area as part of the Fort Worth Jayhawks Basketball Club. This expansion reflected a growing demand for the Jayhawks' culture and player-first approach beyond the DFW metroplex.
In October 2025, Jackson Rennie and Chase Antosca officially announced the transition to the North Texas Jayhawks Basketball Club, uniting teams across Texoma, McKinney and the greater DFW area under one name and one shared mission. This evolution represents both growth and continuity — honoring the roots planted by Coach Johnson while expanding opportunities for the next generation of athletes.
The North Texas Jayhawks stand today as a program built on legacy, strengthened by leadership, and driven by the belief that the game of basketball can shape lives far beyond the court.
